Steem Witness Panel Recording- @timcliff, @curie, @aggroed, @furion, @cervantes, @blockbrothers and special guest @andrarchy
Once a month on the last Saturday of the month I host a Steem Witness Panel discussion. This one featured an opening statement from @andrarchy; Director of Content for Steemit. He talks about the culture at Steemit, the most recent @steemitblog post and the most recent @steemitdev post.
Then we dove into thoughts from the various witnesses regarding the current state of the platform, problems to address on the platform, and where we might expect some challenges to face us.
The panelists include:
@timcliff, @curie via @carlgnash, @aggroed, @furion, @cervantes, and @exyle
The first 20-30 min are @andrarchy, the next 30 min or so are each of the witnesses introducing themselves, the next 30 min are problems we face, and then we open it up to some general discussion and closing statements.
Upcoming Panels
March 3rd Steem Artist panel with @stellabelle and @juliakponsford
March 10th Sounds of Steem with @isaria (and likely @krystle and @luzcypher)
March 17th unknown at this time
March 24th Minnow Support Project Moderator Forum hosted with @kubbyelizabeth
March 31 Steem Witness Panel
All Panels start at 11am EST and run for approximately 2 hours. They are typically preceeded and followed by a little pirate radio and recordings of the show are launched afterward.
I enjoyed tuning in, @aggroed, and getting a peek behind the scenes re: what witnesses do and are up to.
Especially gratifying to listen to Carl Gnash of Curie, who I think do excellent work—as a poet, I’m particularly grateful for their fine curation.
I hope to check out your artist panel, next month!
All the best, Yahia
PS - How do I apply to be on your show? Here’s a link to my work on PBS Newshour

Thanks for sharing
I am a new user in steem, you and your friends are a steam promoter. I feel bad when new users like me are introduced to the platform, I give up because they are not recognized and no detail explained. Your team and you do a good job with recognize the user completely and I will be happy to be part of your team.
@aggroed, In the previous lecture I suggested that I wish audio transcripts could be transcribed that would give more speed to the information of those who do not speak English. It is easier to have the information and we have it written in English.
very good advice and will make it easier for users who do not speak english to read it
Thanks again for hosting @aggroed, sorry I broke up with you :) lol You are pretty quick on your feet. I want to clear up any misunderstanding that may have arisen from one point I said, I have talked to a few people who were confused by something - I am quoting a reply I left in a comment on @abh12345's post here:
"There may have been a slight misunderstanding of something I said here, RE the low, medium and high stakeholders voting on Curie witness decisions. I probably should have used the familiar terms minnow, dolphin and whale :) What I was trying to convey is that unlike most (all?) of the other top 20 witnesses, which are in fact high stake users (if not whales, big dolphins), many of the stakeholders who vote on Curie witness decisions are in fact minnows. I think minnows as a group have very little representation on Steem blockchain and I wanted to point out that the Curie community witness does in fact include minnows in the decision making process. All Curie top curators, reviewers and operators have an equal vote in witness decisions regardless of SP. (what I hope the words I said in the interview did NOT convey was that there are different tiers of importance within the Curie voting hierarchy - as there are none, it is a straight democracy with equally weighted votes)."
Much love - Carl
I am so sad that I missed this. Was waiting for it so much but my network provider decided to mess me up so much this night . I had a very hard time login I'm this night and when I eventually did the connection disappeared again. I feel so frustrated right now but what can i do? Ama just chill for the next one and hope I participate successfully .
This community is making soo much progress and its still such a young platform. The next couple years are going to be so huge for scaling Steem! Off-topic but when are d-tube videos going to show up on Steemit posts like Youtube videos do? Thanks guys for all you do : )
As always @aggroed, greatly appreciate the witness forums as well as your collective invaluable efforts towards steem and steemit.
You are doing a great job @aggroed really love the growth of this platform much love for steemit
