The Reports from the Witnesses 2017-07-30
The Reports from the Witnesses aims to provide the community with a summary of what all the witnesses have been up to. Every week, I collect all of the reports from the individual witnesses and assemble them into a single aggregated report. New witness announcements and witness retirement announcements are included in the report as well.
Witnesses can continue posting their posts to the witness-category and/or witness-update tags, and I will assemble everything I find there. If I miss any reports, just let me know and I will correct it. If you want to direct message me a report via chat, that is fine too.
Historic Reports from the Witnesses can be found here:

So without further ado, I bring you the thirty third edition of 'Reports from the Witnesses'!

Some Notes:
- Many witnesses do not report every week, and prefer to only report when they have updates.
- I recommend that you include communication as one of your criteria for evaluating witnesses, but keep in mind - it is not the only criteria. There are some witnesses that prefer to work "behind the scenes", and do not do much as far as reports.
- For witnesses that are not currently posting any reports, I would encourage you to provide the community with at least some insight into what you are currently working on :)

Hi Tim! Thanks for another good list of reports from the witnesses.
On that thumbnail bug where it doesn't show in the feeds if it contains parenthesis or apostrophe in the filename: https://github.com/steemit/condenser/issues/1499
Might be because whatever server code is producing the HTML, it is leaving out the quotes around the url parameter of the background-image.
Should be
background-image: url("pic.gif")
If you inspect the image in the browser, it does show the quotes but if you do a "View Source" it shows something like this:
<span...... style="background-image:url(https://steemitimages.com/256x512/https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2013/03/23/22/58/key-96233_640.jpg);"
Maybe if single quotes were used around the file name in the url parameter, it would work:
<span...... style="background-image:url('https://steemitimages.com/256x512/https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2013/03/23/22/58/key-96233_640.jpg');"
If not, then special characters like parenthesis need to be HTML escaped with the codes here: http://www.theukwebdesigncompany.com/articles/entity-escape-characters.php
Most programming languages have some command to escape on the server side but you could also escape on the client side. I'm not sure exactly how steemit produces the HTML for its pages but someone there must know, and hopefully it will be a fairly straightforward fix!
Thanks!
Thanks for your great work!
Thank you for this update. Unfortunately more then one of the witness i voted for weren't included. This is good accountability, now let's go find out what my witnesses have been up to
This deserves some attention. Upvoted and resteemed :)
I must say, you are the only one that i have voted as a witness. Very active in engaging with other Steemians is what this community really needs. I'm the least techie crypto guy here, and i know the updates and tweaks on the crypto world is essential. But what people need is interaction and having meaningful connections rather than the technical prowess.
Keep it up @timcliff! Here is my awesome 0.01 minnow upvote for you. ^_^
Thanks :)
Didn't realized I was already at #115 since the witnesses page is displaying only the top 50. Do you know where can I find the full list?
I can send you a link when I get home tonight.
https://steemd.com/witnesses you could try this place.
It is only showing the top 100 :(
This post deserves a resteem, spreading the word. Thanks
Sadly dropped a spot after posting , witness #63 turned into 64, thanks for the reports tim
You are more than a number ;)
@timcliff, you're a gentleman and a scholar!
Thanks :)
