Let's talk about investment...What do you get for your Investment and votes? Are the witnesses you invest in, actually investing in You?

Do you know what you get for your investment? Do you know where your investment goes? Or are you just lining the pockets of some unethical and self serving witness? If you wanted to talk to the witness that you voted for, could you? Or are they just some distant individual, out to make money, whose care factor for you is zero. Their decisions are based on what serves their needs, not yours!!

What could they be in it for?

Let me give you an example, let's say you were someone with $50K sitting around; you could:

1. Make an Steemit account, convert that $50K into Steem (you can do this right? cause you're a western, straight, white guy in this scenario, ok?)
2. Go setup a bidbot that upvotes the punters (the bot basically sucks, but hey you just pulled it off a random git so it's not your fault..am I right?) Still this is allows you to tick the "look at me give to the community" box.
3. You then go set up your witness server. If you don't know how, just go to the #witness channel in Steem.chat and leech that knowledge like a mofo.Then vote for yourself ,and all the punters getting rich from your bidbot, will of course vote for you. You're the guy with the bidbot, that's going to make them rich.
4. Boom, before you know it, they are earning a Return On "your" Investment.

So you ask, why do you care Sapphic?

Well because here at Sapphic Witness Central, we run things a little differently. How so?

Well it's a:

A witness server set up as a not for profit? How does that work?

Well without getting into to much detail, (detail does exist, and will be in a future post) we simply exist to give back to the community.

I have agreed to fund the witness server, and the associated administration costs myself. When it becomes self funding, then the real charitable work commences. Supporting and developing difference and diversity in the Blockchain.

The income and expenditure for the server will be audited on a bi-monthy basis, with those reports being posted to the Blockchain.

Recipients for benefits from the non-profit will be selected by an independent committee, providing further transparency. You will truly see where you witness vote (investment) is being directed. It will be channeled straight back into bettering the community and the blockchain.
