The Witness Voting Engagement Report - 2017-08-30
How Engaged Are Steemit Users in Voting for Witnesses?
That's what this weekly report is all about.
This week's engagement rate for accounts with 100,000 VESTS or more is:
21.3%
That's up 5% from last week, with a 3.8% increase in new users.
If you're not sure what a witness vote is, or why it's important, please see my older post Steemit is Free, But Your Witness Vote Determines its Future.
This report uses @arcange's STEEMSQL.
MV
stands for Million VESTS.
VESTS are like vested shares in Steemit and relate to Steem by a ratio (484.932 Steem per MV as of this report).
VESTS impact the weight of your vote on posts and the influence of your vote for Steemit Witnesses.
Here's how I'm filtering the data:
All Accounts
: No filter applied, includes all accounts.> 100,000
: Accounts with 100,000 or more VESTS.> 0 Posts
: Accounts which have posted at least once.> 100k & > 0 Posts
: Accounts with 100,000 or more VESTS who have also posted at least once.Active
: Accounts which have voted, commented, and posted a root post in the last 30 days.
The percentage values in parentheses show the change since last week's report.

If you know people on this list, maybe encourage them to set a proxy voter or ask them why they aren't voting right now. Those like myself who are working to move up the witness ranks would sure appreciate their support.
Have You Voted for a Witness?
If you haven't voted yet, please consider setting @lukestokes as your proxy voter. Otherwise, go vote for some Steemit Witnesses you've interacted with and respect to do what's in the best interest of the network. I hope that includes my witness, @lukestokes.mhth.
Again, if you're not sure what a witness vote is, or why it's important, please see my older post Steemit is Free, But Your Witness Vote Determines its Future.
Thank you! I hope you found this useful.

@lukestokes my buddy, I will like to vote for you as a witness due to your kindness, hardwork and authenticity- any direct link?
Moreover , I posted an article about delegating power and referenced you there-feel free to see my latest blog post, I wish you a blessed weekend
Thanks Charles! You can vote for me using the link in my signature which takes you to the witness page which you can also get to via the right menu. To learn more, see the link in the article I reference a couple times.
Good post on being a Steem Owner and not a renter. :)
Done . I tried with lukestokes but it didnt work so I saw lukestokes.mhth and voted . Hope its your ID , success.
Yep, that's me. Thank you for your support.
You are welcome, more sccess to you

Charts are looking better. Keep posting these updates and that 5% increase should stay up! I also like that you include the vest:steem ratio.
For those that don't know, that is when you get your voting slider as well.
I'll be back for next week's stats fix. Thanks for sharing.
Interesting post. May your success always accompany you in steemit development.
I'm about 6 days old here. You have made such a great effort in conveying knowledge on this aspect and demonstrating promotional efforts- appropriately. Those of us who don't completely "get it", and who want to- will pick it up soon enough. I just voted for you and your contribution. I really appreciate it!
I am shocked that the stats have been improving every single week!
Maybe your posts are having an impact.

I'd like to think it has some small role to play. :)
Lol, have to admit I'm not one to take much of an interest in votes as it is.
I'm not here to vote for witnesses, I'm here to connect with people and hopefully build a solid brand that others appreciate.
New Post!
Solution to Steemit's Problems?
Great to see people starting to more consistently interact with our witnesses. Let's hope the number keeps climbing and we can keep working with witnesses who keep this platform running so smoothly
Crazy to see how just in 3 months you went from 77 to 29 @lukestokes haha
good work!
you create or update the category-witness with good. this information is very useful to me.
thank you for sharing!
Did you count it as 1.3% from all existing STEEM's? If yes, I think, you should count % only from all existing SP because only SP can vote for witnesses.
No, that +1.3% is just the increase compared to last week. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
I am still learning how witnesses work. And I'm reading your information, to have more knowledge. Already vote for you in the witnesses, thanks @lukestokes for the support you give to the community, I wish you much more success. Greetings. :)
Thank you @rivendels! I greatly appreciate all the support I can get. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Uumm. One question would be, What is the role of witnesses? I'm not clear on that subject yet. Greetings @lukestokes. :)
The link I reference in the original post goes into more detail explaining that.
Thanks @lukestokes. I will try to get that information. :)
