Thanks for the info! I voted you and see you're number 62 now. Only those in top 100 can participate right? I've set the witness (following great @someguy123's tutorial) more than a week ago and still didn't get a block.
Under 100 really struggles to get a block. There are still 17 (at last count) dead witnesses ahead of me. I'm at 97 as of this morning and I get 1 block every 36 hours or so.
Thanks for the clarification. It struggles but still there are chances to get any (being bellow top 100), right? I do understand it isn't worth to keep the witness running if for more than a week it did nothing, but want to understand the system. And BTW is it worth for your case to mine a block in 36 hours?
If you're talking straight income, then no, it's not worth it. I'm doing this in a firm commitment to the platform, while that lose me money out of my pocket until and if I can reach into the mid 70s, then it will just about pay for itself. As far as your number now, I don't know, I was fortunate enough to have votes that got me up the list pretty quickly. My first opportunity came at around 115. I had my key set incorrectly, so I missed it.
