ADSactly Witness Report 2018/09/25 - HF20 Aftermath
Witness Update Report #23
The dust has finally settled after HardFork 20 and the subsequent update versions that followed.
We're sure everyone has by now noticed the significant improvement to Steem ecosystem, increased rewards on posts and a huge decrease in spam comments across the board. The very welcomed "hide resteems" button has also made things so much more pleasurable to read and navigate. One of the more unseen improvements, is the fact that we can onboard more users and rapidly increase much needed growth the the Steem blockchain.
Our witness sever is running smoothly and producing blocks, and our price feed is stable. We have dropped by two spots on the witness list and are sitting at witness list at number 54, and we would really appreciate a vote for witness if you have not done so already.
Please take a moment to read our Witness Proposal, and if you support the same fundamentals and vision as we do for the future of the Steemit community, please consider voting for us as witness here.
ADSactly Education :
We have decided that as part of our weekly Witness Report post, we will be choosing different technical topics to discuss.
Please feel free to request a topic in the comment section.
Voting
It has been a long and for the most part quiet two weeks in the Steemit world as the Hardfork dropped and users waited for the system to adjust and be back up and running. A big part of that waiting process was people turning of their voters while the Steemit Voting and RC Mana regulated and refilled. Although many Steemit users are very aware of the use of voters there still might be some of our newer members who might be wondering what I mean when I use the term voter.
A voter is an app or extension of Steemit that has been developed to make votes for you on the Steemit platform. The voter allows you to choose other people on the platform to vote for whenever they post content. There are several reasons voters might be used.
Making sure not to miss voting for your favourite content creator. You might have a user you follow who you feel produces consistently great content and you want to make sure to reward them every time they post. A voter can be set up to do this for you.
Curation: You might want to vote on some of the great content on Steemit and make sure that you vote is timed in a way to maximise your curation possibilities.
Community support: Setting a voter for people who are part of a community is a great way to help support and grow the community.
The one big drawback to the voter systems is that you are able to vote without seeing the content. This means that you may be voting for content that you don’t regard as having value. This is why you should really believe that the creator is consistent in what they post before setting them up on your voter. If you are going to be using a voter, you should still take the time to read the great content that you are supporting and make comments. Steemit is about so much more than just the vote.
Two voters that are used regularly by the platform are: Steemvoter and Steemauto.
ADSactly
Remember to join our Friday Night Live with Adsactly tomorrow! Our very own @princessmewmew and @broncofan99 host a discussion panel where they will chat about all things Steemit related, focusing especially on minnow issues, curation and community centred projects. We invite you to come on over and introduce yourself and share a post with us, chat about it, and also to ask any questions you may have! Join us here every Friday night at around 20:00 UTC.
We welcome you to join the society, meet and talk to people, make friends and establish relations with other ADSactly members. You will receive ADSactly community units just for showing up and taking part in our voice hangouts, for helping out with promotions, for helping new members feel welcomed, showing them around and helping them get familiar with the society, for finding new projects that might catch interest of other members. Sometimes even for being generally a good person willing to help others.
