The history of the Albariño Festival begins in the 50's, in a meeting of friends, to check which was the best Albariño. They agreed to call a contest so that the harvesters presented their wines in order to choose who had the best.

Five days before Sunday, the inauguration takes place at one o'clock on the Paseo de la Calzada (celebrated in Cambados, Galicia, Spain) where the parties begin with a group of bagpipes.

The "stands" for the tasting of the wines are opened. During the following days and nights there are numerous events: concerts, theater and children's workshops, parades and festivals.
