Fuerteventura Freestyle epic flat water action

So about freestyle windsurfing. It's a pretty new discipline and has only been included on the PWA tour for about 20 years. Before this competitive freestyle windsurfing was generally a light wind activity but once it became a purely high wind competition the action got more and more insane!!

For me capturing the story isn't always that easy during an event like this as there are so many heats and usually heats are very very close but this year we had so many upsets that it made the story telling easy!!

The photo's above show Youp Schmit a Caribbean rider who is an unexpected world title contender!! In the long event film I'm making his run through the event is extremely eventful. Here are the daily video's we produced at Windsurfing.tv quickly put together at the end of each day.

For me it has been a full on few weeks, non-stop filming and editing . . . with some larger film projects filmed but requiring a lot of editing to get them online. One thing Ben and I did at Windsurfing.tv is start a crowd funding members area, so we can try and progress the films and tell interesting and entertaining stories about other aspects of our sport. We've had a great response with over 500 supporting us, this motivates and drives me on just knowing my fellow windsurfers are support two honest windsurf guys making films, bug thank you to all of our supporters

Back home now and getting my hand dirty in the garden again, update coming in the next post.
