When This Old World Starts Getting Me Down

And People Are Just Too Much

Not every shot is technically perfect, or even, technically good.

This one is actually fairly bad. Lousy sky, lousy color, and all. But, Technically good or bad, I love the shot for many reasons! Not the least reason is, Look at him! He's so cool, perched on my roof... owning it all. Surveying his domain. And nothing escapes those big yellow eyes.

On another front, I was speaking with someone and mentioned, this is my Spirit Bird as some in the First Nations would say. Whenever I look around, he's watching over me. When I head to the woods, he's there. The beach? Overhead. Driving? I can see him, scanning the skies, flying alongside roads and highways. If anyone asks, the Red-Tailed Hawk is my Spirit Bird!

On the roof, it's peaceful as can be
And there the world below don't bother me, no, no - James Taylor

Always, I strive to give back
To the animals and birds around me
to put more plants in than I take out
And be a good steward for the world around me!

Getting a decent photo of a bird of prey is always a motive to celebrate... even if it's not the perfect photo!

I think this shot is superb! There is so much detail there... the sharp talons, the coloration of the feathers... I've never seen a hawk quite so close-up before and I think this is wonderful and definitely a cool presentation in PYPT!
