I'M BACK (MERLIN THE BIRD)
What a stroke of luck. What is the old saying, Right Place Right Time. Early this morning while having coffee on the front porch, guess who shows up? There she is, sitting on a branch about 40 ft away. S__t My camera is inside. Hustle up to retrieve it. Merlin is still purched right here she was when I get back. Ready shoot, s__t no memory card, I left it in the monitor from downloading pictures earlier. Hustle to retrieve the memory card and put it back in the camera. I get back and Merlin is still perched right there. I snap a dozen shots from the porch and she just sits there. What the hell, I decide I will try to approach her with the stealth of a Bull In A China Closet. She continues to sit there watching me. I figure, why press my luck I am now less than 20 feet from her. our eyes are locked as I a take one shot after the next. It was as though she was poseing for the camers. After snapping off another 10 pics or so, I figure lets see how close I can get. With my next step, she turned and with one beat of her wings she glided through the canopy of the forest. Very cool!!!

Merlin can be spotted every day early in the morning. What a powerful bird. On the camera I can enlarge pic and you should see his tallons, they look like they could rip your head off.
