Buitreraptor was a carnivore (meat-eater) that lived in South America the late Cretaceous period, about 90 million years ago. Its fossils were discovered in the La Buitrera region of Patagonia in Argentina.

Buitreraptor was about 4 feet (1.2 meters) long. It had long legs and was probably a fast runner, snaping up small prey using its long snout. It also had large forward pointing eyes, and probably had binocular vision, which would have been very useful when chasing its prey. Although the currently known fossils of Buitreraptor do not reveal if it had feathers, it is likely that it probably did.
