RE: WIKILEAKS | Top Of News Credibility Ratings

in #wikileaks7 years ago (edited)

Hard to compete with raw documents and data from Wikileaks.

Providing a searchable database of documentation/emails/spreadsheets/gov. cables to the general public, in my mind, was a pivotal decision.

You get raw news minus the spin and distortion.

It's no wonder people trust Wikileaks above all other publishers.
No government or gov. agency has ever disputed the authenticity of the material provided by Wikileaks. Quite impressive, if you ask me.

ps. Though you've changed your avatar, I'm still going to continue reading all of your posts in a thick Scottish accent!

Yes it is hard to compete with raw data. I worry after the Macron leaks though that more and more leaks will try and be discredited or fake or manipulated. This is where having a good understanding of digital forensics comes in which is next on my list of things to learn.

hahaha you noticed the avi. Please never stop reading them in a Scottish accent.

Very good point. I'm sure that a ton of documents are sent to wikileaks and they have to vet the info intensely...one mistake like publishing a phony document could erode the public's trust.

Yes sadly the msm will give WL no mercy if that ever did happen. I guess they would rather not publish if there's any possibility of them being faked or manipulated.

I sense that each day more and more people are catching on to the fakeness of the 'main stream news' - the likes of CNN are on the way of the dinosaurs. #CNNFakeNews
