Why Stipe Miocic will edge out the win against Francis Ngannou @ UFC 220?

in #why7 years ago

Ok, if you don't already know, I'm a HUGE fan of MMA.

I've been watching MMA since around... I want to say - around 2006-2007. I remember when MMA wasn't even considered a legitimate sport, and largely associated with more of a barbaric bloodbath between two tribal tattoo'd males, typically wearing tapout shirts. I also remember when MMA was still being fleshed out, and typically, fighters were very good at one style of mixed martial arts(i.e. Matt Hughes with his powerhouse wrestling, GSP pre-champ straight up high kicking, nearly KO-ing people, insane stand up from his traditional martial arts background, and submission game as well. So, I'd like to think I know a bit about MMA.

Francis Ngannou is an utter annihilator, without a doubt.

However, my argument is his only "big" names, that he's gotten past, are post-prime Overeem, and post-prime Arlovski. Post-prime meaning, unfortunately they've lost their chins from the wars that they've been in. On the other hand, Stipe Miocic, has fought sooo many contenders, JDS, Overeem, etc. Stipe Miocic has faced a whole lot of diversity, it'd be foolish to count him out. For example, the knockdown that Overeem gave him was HUGE - and yet, he came back and ended up KO-ing Alistair. So yes, I do think it's foolhardy to just think that big, bad Francis, is going to just completely steamroll him. Stipe a big KO percentage, and he was, essentially who Francis Ngannou is now. I believe you will really see Stipe's well rounded skillset, come UFC 220. I believe Stipe will smother Ngannou, and nullify his fight-changing counter-striking, particularly, his game-changer uppercuts.

So don't count Stipe out yet, and if I'm wrong, you can come back to this post and give me crap about it! ;)

Looks like I guessed right, lol.
