自从新冠疫情在美蔓延、并引起恐慌之后，针对亚裔族群的歧视暴力层出不穷：
2月13日，加州一名16岁亚裔少年被指身上存有新冠病毒，遭致重殴被打入院。3月10日，纽约就有一亚裔女子被指身含病毒、不戴口罩而遭殴打。
这种情势下，在美亚裔开始担心自己和家人会因为肤色成为被攻击的目标。
现在每天，在面对有关新冠疫情在美国失控、亚裔被视为病毒被欺负这种信息巨浪的冲刷下，孤身在外的华人很难不会被影响。在种种担忧之下，很多华人开始囤枪囤弹。
