It is Saturday and my wife went to market to buy some ingredients for a home cooked Silver Needle Noodles and it is knowned as 老鼠粉 in Chinese. Many years ago (I could not remember which year), people around a township called Kampar had food poisoning after eaten Silver Needle Noodles (老鼠粉 ) in food court in a small town called Kampar. After the authority conducted a test on the food, it was found that the noodle contained excessive chemical called boric acid. like anything else, excessive consumption can be dangerous to human.

Nevertheless, street food is part and partial of lifestyle of people live in Malaysia and this poisoning incidence has been forgotten with most people or never heard of for the younger generation.

Anyway, Silver Needle Noodles (老鼠粉 ) can be prepared and cooked in several styles. For my family, the common way to.cook is to fry with some meat, fish ball and veggie. If you like healthier way, merely boil all of them like what my wife did for today's breakfast. I added fish slice as it is fresh from the market this morning.

There areany places like restaurant,food court or coffee shop sells Silver Needle Noodles (老鼠粉 ) with different cook style for your selection. A couple of my preferences are pork meat soup and curry.
