Better Than Facebook

I like the fact that there aren't posts about what Steemians are eating, and I like the Steemit posts I see that are about helping people learn how facets of the blockchain work. I do not miss the minutia of Facebook, but an Oak Island group page posted a question, "Where is everyone from and what do they do?" This post facilitated many connections, not only by location, but also by expertise. I have no idea how this will go over in Steem, but I am giving it a try. Because of that post I had a project with someone from Malta, maybe it's not just about decentralization, but about closing the gaps.
