WhatsApp has launched a new group feature.

According to WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned instant messaging programme WhatsApp is getting a new upgrade through the Google Play Beta Program, increasing the version to 2.22.12.4.

Users can now see a list of prior participants in their groups with this upgrade to the instant messaging software.

According to a screenshot published by the WhatsApp tracker, in a future version, a new option will be added at the bottom of the group participants list that would allow users to see who has previously participated in the group.

"Unfortunately, it appears that this list will be visible to everyone in the group, not just group admins," WABetaInfo added. "However, as this feature is still in development, the way the function works may change before it is released."

The WhatsApp tracker stated it didn't know when the functionality will be available to beta testers, but that "when the feature is ready, you will discover a fresh changelog on this page."
