Ayala Mall Cebu is on FIRE
My shift starts at 10PM and I worked at an office inside WIPRO building which is located at Cebu Business Park. I was on my way to the office (around 9:20PM, had logged in on our biometrics, had set up my pc for me to be ready on my task. After sometime me and my colleague(s) heard sirens outside and had ignored the first truck that we heard (it was around 10PM or so). But when we heard another firetruck not just one but three we we're then wondering what location and where is the fire occuring. Later did we know the fire is just around the corner, just near to where we are located.
We we're astonished that Ayala Mall Cebu is on fire or to be specific Metro Ayala was burning. It was said that Metro Ayala third floor toy store stockroom was we're the fire started. Management did not know the cause and the alarm and sprinklers we're not functioning well. When a thick smoke was seen coming out of the building people then became aware that the Mall was on fire. Firetrucks came rushing and had responded immediately. Heavy rain poured down and more firetrucks arrived. The fire was not yet been put out nor been tamed. On cebu flash report on facebook a picture was uploaded that visible cracks on the building we're seen. It has also been said that the fourth floor had collapsed.
Even at 1AM up to this point (8AM) more firetrucks had been coming to help put out the fire. And as I've heard on the news about 18 firetrucks we're there to put out the fire. Also the people in charge on these events, I think they are called "Cebu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CCDRRMC)" we're also there to help if there are any injured staffs, employees etc. They demolished the wall in order to let out the smoke and convenient enough for firefighters to drench water inside.
Ayala Center Cebu, in a statement on Facebook said,
"The Metro Ayala Emergency Brigade Team and Ayala Center Cebu Emergency Brigade Team are working with the Bureau of Fire and other emergency response teams to manage the situation and ensure all customers and personnel >are safely evacuated,".
It's a relieve that there we're no casualties happened on the incident. And that me and my colleagues we're assured that we were safe even if the incident was just a few blocks away.
Some pics I captured after my shift: wherein firefighters and CCDRRMC still struggles to put out the fire (totally)
Also wherein some firetrucks where refilling / repleneshing their tanks with water in and some firetrucks rushing in to help (accidentally caught our Lapu-Lapu firetruck in a hurry to help yay!)
Credits to Google (www.google.com) and KITE collage (it's an app) for the intro photo (2 fire black background and a firefighter)
That's it for today!
Ja ne! See you around! Keep safe!
