When was the last time you treated yourself to something that made you feel happy, healthy, uninhibited or sexy? Well, there is no better time than now. We spend so much of our time caring for others in this culture we live in. We care for our children, our jobs, our pets, our parents, the list goes on and on. In fact, the list is so long that we often forget to care about ourselves at all.

Do you remember the old commercial that said, "Calgon take me away"? That is the kind of escape that is needed for us to feel more centered and you don't have to go anywhere to get the relief you need. You are a human, you NEED you time! Taking time for yourself can replenish the cup from which you pour your energy from each day. You don't have to go on vacation to get the necessary time you need to re-center yourself. Here are a few ideas that you can refer to the next time you need some much needed and deserved, "pamper me time".

  • Make an appointment to get your hair done (a new style or color is always fun to mix things up).
  • Get your nails done. A mani-pedi day are becoming very popular due to the relaxing you get to do in the massage chair while having someone take care of your nails and feel.
  • Put on some sexy lingerie, just like you used to when things were new and fresh with you and your lover.
  • Take a nice, long, hot bubble bath or use lavender infused Epson salt for double the benefits.
  • Relax and watch a your favorite movie (alone).
  • Dress to the nines and go out dancing!
  • Go ahead and purchase that (insert item here) that you have been eyeing but haven't taken the plunge on.
  • Get a message at a local spa.
  • Take a day and do nothing! Turn off your phone, your computer, don't clean your house or talk to anyone.
  • Take the day off.
  • Hop over to your favorite store in the mall that does makeup and get a make over!

There are no rules, just do what makes you feel good every once in a while for the sake of your own wellness and the wellness of those you care for. It's true what they say, it's very hard to care for others if you don't first care for yourself. So, take the time to be whole. Relax and balance yourself.

Take the time and treat yourself, then enjoy the smile that it brings to your face and to your soul.
