Snake in the grass. Weekend Freewrite.
It has been a while since my last freewrite.
Since any write actually.
The weekend freewrite from @mariannewest has three prompts, with five minutes per prompt.
This is the link to the first prompt.

It is a lot of fun. Join in or check out some posts.
It's fun to read how the prompts are interpreted by others.
Here is my effort...
There were snakes in the old stone place
But the grass grew so green,
The glassy lake said to be laced
The eels hue lights the sheen,
The creek maintains it's ancient trace
Hungry crocks lurk up stream,
The lean-to barn still stands by grace
Speaks not of which it's seen,
Caller, are you there? Suddenly
Aother voice came on,
The lines once spun to close the deal
All necessitation gone,
The stone just bricks, the lake stagnates
The creek dry river bed,
The hungry sold their ghostly bones
On lies we have been fed,
Words and bones, and sticks and stones
All cumulate this earth,
Caller I've now grown wearisome
Maintaining mockish mirth,
She had a cold that lingered on
Just a virus, they said,
The old stone place where grass grows green
Perfect to clear her head,
Obligingly she convalesced
Believed they knew her best,
Pay those snakes no mind, they said
Do you not see you're blessed?
The grass grew long as she lay there
The snakes concealed within,
The rains arrived as seasons turned
The crocks and eels swam in.

We should do like the crocks, then or at least that was my conclusion. That's a very interesting winding tree-path :)
Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
My poetry usually is hard to follow, even I don't know what it means sometimes. Throw in random prompts and we have no hope 😂.
Oh! I forgot to credit the photo to pixabay! Thanks.
It isn't a requirement of pixabay to give credit, but I always do.
I will edit.
Beautiful people and have a great Sunday. :)
A meaningful write. The imagery is powerful. The narrative fantastic.
Yes, given the state of modern medicine and its goal of handing out pills and reliance on less than therapeutic diets, it is hard to know who to trust .
Sounds like she her cold did her in
Absolutely love what you did with the prompts...
So cleverly done
Here's another Prompt as well as an invitation 😊
