Can other weeks of length be used?

in #week6 years ago

The week could be defined as any interval longer than a day. Ancient Egypt and the French Revolutionary calendar used 10-day period weeks.

The Maya used 13 and 20 days in their calendar. The Soviet Union used both 5 and 6 day weeks. Between 1929-30, the USSR gradually began to use the 5-day week.

Each employee had one day off per week, but this was not a particular fixed day. On September 1, 1931, this system was replaced by a six-day system with a fixed holiday. These particular holidays coincided with the 6, 12, 18, 24 and 30 of the month.

March 1 was used instead of February 30, and when the last day coincided with the month 31, there was an extra working day outside the 6-day cycle. On June 26, 1940, the seven-day week system was introduced.
