Wednesday Walk - Suburbia
Here's a few work from home walking shots for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
I get to work from home these days as Chicago is abandoned for the virus. So in between projects I managed to go outside to get some vitamin D rays. Here's an iris starting out in someone's hedges.
Here's another iris... or at least I think it might be an iris, I'm only good at identifying orchids and mushrooms, womp.
There is a lake nearby I like to walk to and the algae was nice and bright in the sun. The little bluegills got spooked away when I tried getting a picture of them.
These Canadian geese didn't mind me getting too close to them. How are the shadows on these geese @melinda010100 ?
Eventually they had enough of me and plopped themselves into the water.
Here's an interesting tree with drooping blooms/buds.
I am not sure if these are left over from last year or if these are their new buds.
On the way back home I found this wooly bear on the sidewalk.
Of course I had to pick it up @whatisnew lol.
Now for some festive St. Patrick's crows. This neighbor of mine has left these crows up since last halloween and they aways scare my fiance when she walks by. I've seen them dressed for Christmas, I wonder if they'll get bunny ears for Easter.
Here's the other bird they decorate. If you are on your phone walking in a trance then look up and see these guys they can be sort of startling when they are not dressed up lol.
Finally here's a video of a lone Canadian goose in Chicago. You can see the empty atmosphere downtown, now the geese are taking over.
Nice captures!

Cheers and !BEER
Thanks :-), I found a few mushrooms today on my walk.
We have no fresh mushrooms yet. Except for chaga and tinder funnels on tree trunks :-)
Lucky you have chaga. I just found split gill, turkeytail and some jelly roll today. Should be warm enough soon for black morels...
Chaga grows on birches all year round. The first edible mushrooms will appear only in May.

Love those crows all dressed up for the holiday! A rather sad St. Patrick's Day in Chicago, but glad to see the crows got into the spirit! Great goose shadows! Good one for #featheredfriends, too!
❤️. !tip
Yeah last week i saw all the bars gearing up for St. Patrick's day but by Thursday they were taking down decorations.
Our lives have changed so quickly.

Some funny and cute photos! They cheer me up! Thanks!
Thanks, maybe by the time Chicago opens again the geese will have taken control of the place. The crows will be walking around in business suits as well lol.
Oh! I do hope the geese and crows will dominate all corners of the streets!
Nice walk to go outside of vitamin D rays photography.
Vitamin d is essential for health.
