Sound wise there has been numerous calls from the geese, honking as they flock together for the fall migration.

There seems to be a rise in the number of coyotes and we were chased off the hill by blood cuddling cries from a pack of coyotes, which makes these calls after they have made a kill. If Bruno would get mixed up with them he would be torn apart for they are much quicker than the domestic dogs and work together in that pack. So that put an end to our walk as we called Bruno to come and we headed for the secure spot of our forest home.

Nice shots on your walk good to see some colors still cool to hear the elk and sounds sensible cutting the walk short when you heard the coyotes

That is cool, 2 runs of color in autumn! That yellow is sublime!
We used to have a pack of coyotes here, before the hunters wiped them out years back. Their cries when they got to howling sounded like aliens landing some times. It could get really weird!

On Sunday, Mr Golden D was at our back door, which is about 30 feet from the back property edge, and there was a coyote there. We've seen coyotes in the area before but NEVER this close to our house. scary

I agree with you there! You mentioned that you had family in Spiritwood that is quite close to where we live have you ever been up that way in the fall time?
Nah, I was only ever there in the summer when all the berries where in full bloom. We'd feast on blue berries and saskatoon berries. :)
Actually I think that is the best time to visit Saskatchewan! Love the feast of berries!

Ouch, those spine chilling howls. I bet your coyotes are very similar to the packs of African wild dogs that we have over here. Very dangerous for a normal dog.

I imagine they are similar - they are a relative of the dog, way back so I imagine they both have a similar line of descendants. Do you ever see the wild dogs?
Thank you, we have no wild dogs here at the southern tip of the country, but they are up in the northern parts.
