Young and Old / Jung und Alt - WednesdayWalk

in #wednesdaywalk6 years ago

When the rain stopped this afternoon, I used the opportunity for a walk under the motto #WednesdayWalk Challenge by @tattoodjay.

Als der Regen heute Nachmittag aufgehört hat, habe ich die Gelegenheit für einen Spaziergang unter dem Motto #WednesdayWalk Challenge von @tattoodjay genutzt.

Young and Old / Jung und Alt

A few days ago, during a walk along the Drava, I happened to find a few morel mushrooms that grew on the edge of the path.
The mushrooms were still relatively young and it was the first morels that I have seen in the wild, because actually I'm "mushroom blind" - who wants to collect mushrooms with me, has to find some himself, because I usually do not see any 😉

The first photo shows one of these young morels.
On my walk today, 11 days later, I passed the same place again, and the mushrooms were still there - 11 days older, bigger and very dry.

Incidentally, the same mushroom can be seen on both photos.

In our area, I have not yet met morels. These are delicious mushrooms, but with them you have to be careful, they have poisonous relatives who look like them. Old age is not a court sentence)). Probably, so, my Dear friend @Johannpiber can name the following, similar to this, publication. The old mushroom is magnificent, as well as young. He makes respect him. As it is said in the poem of Lermontov - Borodino - My uncle had the best rules, when he was not seriously ill, he forced himself to respect himself, and he couldn’t better invent. I doubt this sounds correct in English. A great macro subject!

The author of the poem, initially, saw before him an old man covered with wrinkles, like this mushroom, but he did not know the heroic past of this old man. When, the author, heard a story about the past exploits that this elderly man made, he was filled with the deepest respect for this old man.
We see an old mushroom, nothing more, but, we do not know what difficulties it has overcome, in order to become such an old mushroom.

Oh, thanks for editing @barski - now I fully understand :)

That's a good story and so true, because you never know what a person might have gone through ... never judge a person by his or her appearance.

Good evening, my friend @barski,

thanks a lot :)
I think, these are the poisonous relatives, because they are still there and not even the animals have yet eaten the mushrooms.

I don't know if I understand your poem right, but I think so ... respect is an important thing, and if you cannot respect yourself, how could you respect anyone else?

Well I am glad you were not mushroom blind to finding these they are such an interesting shape and color :)

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk it is truly appreciated

Thank you JJ :)

The "young" morel, which I have found accidently on the walking path, I have shown you in a comment a few days ago, when you posted your fungi. This time I only had to find that place again and hope that some of the mushrooms are still there ;)

If it was me I probably never would have found the spot on my next visit

You would have found it, believe me: The same path beside the river/reservoir I often walk, and the place is right at the path - some mushrooms are even grown on the path ;)

I would not bet on it I walked the mondo pond trails three Times recently in a row the first loop I had my long macro lens in and saw some small flowers and decided to get shots of them in the second loop with my macro lens and notes the spot on the two next loops for the life of me I could not find them

The flowers simply did not want to be photographed and hid behind a tree :)

I have experienced such too, because sometimes when I walk I also see something I want to photograph later when I'm on my way back, and then I cannot find it. Sometimes I just cannot see the flower, because of the opposite angle when I walk back ;)

I came to two conclusions either the flowers were shy, of one of the dogs walking around the trails looked a bit shady and dug then up lOL

Glad it doesnt happen to just me :)

You are not alone my friend :)

Nice i love morels i hope i find some this year but i might have the same problem as you with mushroom blindness, but only with morels.

Thank you, I am pleased that you like the photos, @sketch.and.jam 😊
I prefer to get the mushrooms at a shop, because there I can be quite sure, that they are edible too ;)

True, though with morels they are easy to id, the poisonous lookalike is really deformed looking compared to morels.

Aha, but the morel on my photo must be poisonous in my opinion, when it's still there after 11 days (there were about 10-15 of them, but this one was looking best ;). The place is right at the walking path where many people walk every day and animals and birds like beavers and ducks are all around.

Right, nothing worse than getting a morel that has dog pee on it or fertilzer chemicals in it. Better to get them from wild areas.

That's true ... in the wild I wouldn't find any, so I would go to a shop and buy some 😎
