Wednesday Walk in Gozo
It has been a long time since I was able to join in this challenge by @tattoodjay it's amazing what life throws up that can prevent a simple walk taking place.
Last Friday we had a brilliant day so a chance to walk so I chose the Ghasri Valley. It's a very short valley at this end and can be accessed along its sides and down a rough set of steps to the bottom where the sea meets a small gravel beach.
The landscape of Gozo is rugged and fairly barren as can be seen. This is where the valley begins.
Start of the valley entrance that can only be accessed from above or by swimming. Divers report that underwater at this point is spectacular. I don't dive so have not had the pleasure.
The valley winds and quickly becomes quite narrow.
From the same point as above looking left.
A short walk to the left is where the sea meets the gravel beach and is dry from here.
The end of the sea
The start of the steps to the valley floor. Not very wide and quite rough.
This is where the steps will end.
As can be seen, the tourists have already started coming. the stone piles become more numerous as the summer progresses.
The tiny little beach, it's around 4 meters wide. Regardless its quite a popular place in the summer for picnics or sunbathing alongside the water.
The narrow shelves on the side are where sunbathing and picnics take place if you look closely where the sea bends left a couple are sitting having a picnic.
Then the climb to the top and home.
Thanks for sharing :)
I'm happy to see again the wonderful places in the world once I was❤
Such a rugged area and yet so beautiful how nature has forged a path through the rocks and made that little beach
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk !tip
