I'm not sure how this works, but I have many things I hope to share.
I am a web & graphic designer by day with a couple of friends I met at my NBC job back in the day. I worked there for nearly 6 years (1995-2001). I kept that job, even though I was unhappy there. I had benefits and insurance, and a regular paycheck. I toyed with leaving many times, but was always told, "you have a good job." Little did I know, they were planning on cutting jobs at the station anyway. I was one of the lucky ones that got laid off in the first round of job slashings.
The friends I met at the TeeVee station eventually left or were told to leave, too. We joined forces and began building websites and designing logos for a few small businesses. Most were through people we knew who needed our services. We didn't know what we were doing at first, but through a lot of blood, sweat, and tears, we started putting the puzzle pieces together and figured out how to make websites. We stuck with it through the years, and eventually built our company into something that could sustain us. Uncle Jake Media was born. As mentioned at the top, that is where I spend my days these days; designing, developing, and maintaining websites for larger businesses at this point. Wordpress is our go to CMS (content management systems).
In my spare time, I am an illustrator/artist and I look forward to sharing my creations, and hope you enjoy them.
Anyway, that's me in a nutshell. Peace!
