Blessed Rain in Cape Town
Drought stricken Western cape had a cold front pass through this past 24 hours bringing some relief to the plants and wildlife.... as well as my parched garden. We had 26mm's in 30 hours in our garden.
The run off from suburban streets and gutters which has had a small trickle for the past few months
Anyone following my blog would know I walk my dog every morning. The changes between yesterday mornings walk and this morning is dramatic.... but what a fantastic change
A thin stream of water full of weeds transformed into a small lake full of bird life
Geese, duck and grey heron's take to the sky at my approach
Thankfully our water tanks are full, as well as every other container we own. We plan to take ourselves off the municipal grid in the near future and become water self sufficient for large parts of the year

It certainly looks like a lake! A distinguished downpour has passed you have. In my area, too, it is rainy, the rivers have come out of the banks, many roads are destroyed. But fortunately, it's not raining now.
