Off-The-Grid Water Trend: New Raw Water Is Flying Off The Shelves
There is a growing obsession in Silicon Valley lately for off-the-grid water; an increasing number of people looking to get their hands on 'raw water'.
One company that's gotten into the business is Live Water that sells their products in smaller grocery venues. On their website they detail the reason behind the process.
They state that filtered and bottled water on the shelves today is commonly sterilized with UV light, along with ozone gas, and a sub micron filter. They claim that this sterilization destroys minerals and probiotics in the water that are beneficial.
They list a number of different probiotics that they say are elusive to their unsterilized water. They even cite a previous study that claims spring water has regenerative properties.
And they aren't the only ones who are looking to get involved. There are other entrepreneurs out there as well who have been looking into starting their own operation and gathering untreated water from natural springs.
Nutritionists and food experts are skeptical of whether or not it might be a good idea to start downing the untreated water. They are worried that it contain a myriad of diseases and harmful bacteria.
Those behind the raw water project though say that they trust in the process.
Prior to the recent Times article about Live Water and this new growing water trend, their 2.5 gallon bottle product was selling for roughly $36 but the price has since jumped and they're now going for about $60. Their glass orb bottle product contains just one liter of water and it goes for about $27.
Critics of the raw water process are urging those interested to reconsider trying it. Insisting that it's only safe to drink if it's been through a standard water treatment process. The raw water drinkers on the other hand are adamant that they're consuming a superior product.

It's so confusing to me. On the one hand, it's easy to laugh at people for being foolish enough to waste their money on such a questionable product. Yet on the other hand it's such a crazy world, where we cannot trust what anyone says, that I completely understand people desperately running to pay extreme amounts to get a little bit of something as widely available as water.
So many of us feel comfortable writing others off as "stupid" when in fact, we should be angry at the individuals participating in these construed situations that are driving people to this kind of madness. This isn't the result of people being stupid - this is the result of decades of lies piled upon lies & distractions. All designed to protect vaunted profit engines, positions of power & the wanton gluttony that requires we all be driven mad in order for them to continue getting away with it.
I mean after all, do you know how long you can go without water? 3 days & still be almost functioning. Of course people are going to get nervous when there's mass amounts of chatter suggesting to us all that our public water is poison.
Maybe some day we'll all place the blame where it really belongs instead of beating up and teasing the victims, our fellow humans.

Many municipal water supplies are poisoned. They are flouridated, which is undeniably a neurotoxin. It's not just that people have been lied to, they have been deliberately poisoned - and by those organizations they were told to trust, like the EPA, the FDA, ADA, and AMA. Wherever their trust was supposed to be safely deposited, they have discovered that instead they were betrayed, and poisoned.
Every municipal water supply is chorinated, also a toxin.
How can city folks get water that isn't chlorinated? How can they get water they can trust, because it's just plain water, as it comes out of the damn ground?
Stuff that ain't poison is worth whatever it takes to get it, and when you can't trust any of the agencies that claim they are trustworthy, well, Live Water is what you want. At any price.
I was raised on it. I know it has flaws, and it sure as hell should go through both filtering and testing.
But, it doesn't need chlorine or flouride, and folks that haven't worked as a scientist can't know much more than that.
This does give me a business idea though. I live where there is abundant artesian water that would exceed any standard for potability that exists. I collect it for free already.
Wtf is wrong with human beings?
How can somebody spend, sorry, waste his/her money on this?
And they tend to believe it. That's the most worrisome part.
Anyway it is their life and they're free to play with their health.

Its really aggravating that sodium fluoride doesn't have to be labelled as an ingredient in drinking water.
I'm not sure about where you live; but, people living in big cities often complain of chemtrails. I don't think rainwater is as pure as one would like to believe.
I'd like to think that a water purification process could decontaminate everyday rain water.

im am getting a "pet rock: vibe from this "raw water" movement, i have spent quite a bit of my youth in the field and have had to drink water from unfiltered streams and springs, the risk is real, sometimes you gotta weight the risk to reward when doing things and i just dont thing the reward outweighs the risk on this one.

Water is such an important resource to manage responsibly. Even our drinking water today seems to have gone through some sort of purification/filtration process which normally has a lot of chemicals to treat the water to make it ready for consumption. "Organic" Water which is pure and comes from nature is a more valuable resource.... I wonder if there are differences in nutritional value?
