RE: A big shout-out to @r0nd0n and the people over at @freezepeach!

You did nothing wrong, no need to apologize. I am sure we are on the same page. My brain is just a bit foggy, probably from too much contrails. What I am afraid of is that possibly some people are comfortable defending free speech if it fits into their world view, but not if they find it offensive. I'd be deeply saddened by that. I believe if ONE person is silenced, freedom of speech is dead. Sometimes it is very hard to keep faith in humanity. How is the proverb?
I despise every word you say but I will fight to the death for your right to say it...

You ever come to a conclusion? Or am I losing it lol...

I think the root of the problem lies in the definition of flag able content on steemit.
If I understand correctly, the policy is to not only flag spam but also what is considered "Hate Speech".
Since we are all human beings with different perspectives and morals this creates a conflict.
IMHO Free Speech should INCLUDE "Hate Speech", my reasoning being that if one single person is silenced, freedom of speech is dead.
Unfortunately my definition appears not to jive with the mainstream idea.
People have different treshholds of what they believe to be acceptable or not and act accordingly.
As a reminder, in the UK it is now a criminal offense to whistle after a woman and ask for her phone number.
It is problematic and in my mind also a sign of our times where people become more and more polarized and intolerant.
No Tolerance for Intolerance, right?
This leads to good people with the best intentions doing bad things.
We all have been conditioned to "Do the right thing". Unfortunately most of us disagree on what IS right and what is wrong.
Honestly, I have very little hope that we will ever achieve the level of wisdom needed to live in a sane society...
