Putin just triggered the end of the US dollar
Vladimir Putin just announced the end of the US dollar and dollar-based assets:

The world stood shocked as he revealed the five-member economies – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa – plan to issue a “new global reserve currency.”
If you earn and save in dollars or dollar-based assets… this isn't good.
For the last century or so, the United States Dollar was the global reserve currency – and anyone earning and saving in it was seeing great benefits because of that…
But now, Putin seems determined to put the dollar’s reign to an end:
“The issue of creating an international reserve currency based on a basket of our currencies is being worked out,” Putin said at the BRICS business forum.
Not only are they expected to back their new reserve currency with gold – making it more historically trustworthy and stable for people to hold and save in…
…but the BRICS nations also represent 80% of the entire human population.
This means 80% of the economic activity in the world will be backing their new reserve currency, too.
Which leaves Western nations and dollar-based assets in the dark for what could be the next century or two.
