The West wants to involve Russia in the war, because they know that the weapons in Russia's hands are technologically backward for at least 20 years compared to the weapons in the hands of the West. All the west has to do is give weapons to ukraine and show them how to use it.

Why does the West want to draw Russia into the war (including China into the West): Russian lands are too rich and big to be left to a weak state like Russia.
