Contest-450-r.jpg

Hey guys!

As everybody seems to have a little trouble getting motivated to post these days I figured I will do a little contest.

I claimed a new account a few month ago called @thehealthylife, where I want to write about my sportive activities, healthy cooking, training methods etc. after my big success this year of loosing 10 kilos doing exactly those things. Also I am a yoga teacher and like to write about this topic every once in a while.

Now, @lizanomadsoul is more about traveling, life, photography and adventures. I don't want to spam any of my followers here with training methods that they maybe are not even interested in and also I don't want to post 1-3 times a day at the same account ;) - So I created @thehealthylife.

Until now I hardly used the account. At steemfest 3 @bitrocker2020, @martibis and myself used it to make a bet about quitting smoking. Everybody joining had to transfer 100 Steem and gets a 100 percent Upvote in return from @thehealthylife. First we wanted to ask more people, but it is really hard to check if you are really not smoking anymore, so we just kept it between us 3 ;) - Well if anybody wants to join in or comes up with a good idea about how to monitore this bet better, let me know ;)

Last week at the Munich Meet Up @actifit-peter me about @actifit and how you can post directly to steemit after doing your workout. I think that is a great idea, building up a new "active community" on this platform so I want to join in and support this project (since I am doing workouts already anyways).

Ok, now about the contest. First I thought I just do a contest for our students of @globalschool , but they seem to be pretty busy already, so I decided to do an open one.

Rules of the Contest

  1. Resteem this original post to get to join as many steemians as possible

  2. Do a post with the title: Wallpapercontest @thehealthylife

  3. Include the topics: healthy food, sports, surfing and yoga

  4. The wallpaper can be animated, you can use my pictures, or draw it. Feel free to get creative.

  5. Use #wallpapercontest as one of your 5 hashtags, so I can find them easily

  6. Submit your entry until Tuesday 25th of December 23:59 (ETZ)

I will also do a Post with the entries to get your guys more visibility and I Upvote every one of them.

I am really looking forward to your entries and wish you good luck! Also I appreciate any resteem and upvote for more visibility to reach out to as many steemians as possible.

Click the map to discover my other adventures!

Cheers,
Liz

Living a healthy life is what pulled me to reduce my weight from 110 kg to 85 in 7months. All by running and walking. Felt very good and light once I reduced . Seems I again started to put on some weight lately due to my dad operation and now the winter weather...now controlling my diet till the weather gets cleared for morning workout......well I never smoke and it's not suiting for a yoga teacher...hopefully next year you will win the bet. ...steem on 👍

Yeah I know smoking is bad. I did quit for 8 month last year and now I started again and its stupid. 2 more weeks and then I stop ;) Are you using @actifit? You could make some posts and extra coins with it if you are working out anyways :) plus you meet other great people.

It's better to be away from flames ...😉 I can see the new year resolution for sure..still you have 2 weeks to warm up your lungs . ...I never tried @actfit? How to use it, if you can guide me....
Also now as we have winter season so i hardly workout..but for sure once the weather gets cleared...I will hit the ground hard...need to come back in shape

There is everything you need to know :) It is an app that tracks your steps basically. The more you do the more coins you get. You can make a post on steem directly.

Was looking at it only.....I was assuming it to be synched with fitbit only but now sees it all depends on mobile app too.....downloaded the mobile app. Hopefully will find out how things come out tomorrow ....
So I only need to keep my mobile with me while doing anything a and it get recorded in the activity tracker...right...?

That is how I understood it yes.

Ohhhh Thanks 👍 let see if I can go through it tomorrow...if I make one then I am successful😉....pretty. Excited

I also will try it out tomorrow. Now we can compete hahaha starting at the same day ;)

I hope you can fuse your original travel account with @thehealthylife because it may be very rigourous I think to run your travel account and a yoga account as well, though I don't know how you plan to do it, but you're a hardworker, I'm certain you can.
I'm not sure I can participate lol, but I'm resteeming for others to follow and participate as well Liz, I see you're really occupied lol, cheers my friend.

Hey there!! How are you?? I will mostly just post my sport tracking, like from running etc. with actifit and also every once in a while do a post about yoga, cooking, healthy living. I really want to quit smoking, so maybe I write about that as well. But yes, my main account is still @lizanomadsoul . Also I will resteem good sports content on @thehealthylife and see who else wants to bet about quitting to smoke ;) to raise some power and support other healthy living steemians.

Well I do hope you quit smoking too, so I'll also support related contents that you resteem and also resteem them likewise as well really, let me know if there's anything I can do again too. Cheers Liz.

Thanks for your support man! You are a great steemian!! Keep up the good work and let me know if you need something :) big hug

I think having a cell phone on your body is worse than smoking lol. Smoking rates are down, but lung cancer rates are up. And now we have cell phone related cancers covered by health insurance in some countries. I avoid cigarettes and cell phones just to be safe.

Good for you :) Have you heard of @actifit before? Are you using it as well?

No because I don't use a cell phone.

ok, i understand.

we are integrating wearables too into Actifit, in case you are fine using a Fitbit instead of the phone we already have that syncing data back, next on our list is Garmin and many other devices.

I'm in support of your project, and see the great participation you get. But I am conflicted about the details.

I'm in SE Asia now and the condo I live in has a circular drive about 2 km total. People run and walk that route daily and I hear their cell phones saying things like. "You are going ## km per hour. Time elapsed ## minutes, distance covered ## km." People love this type of thing, so I think you are on the right track.

On a personal level, I have rheumatoid arthritis and do not walk much. I swim, stretch, and do strength moves for my exercise. They year I lost "half my size" I stopped all the walking I had been doing in the previous few years. I was up to 2.5 hour walks and it was not helping me get fit, or lose weight. Instead, I was in a lot of pain and thought it was my fault.

On a professional level, I coach morbidly obese people to help them lose weight, and don't recommend they aim for 10K in steps as a daily goal. I'm often dealing with people over 50 bmi and walking incessantly is a bad plan until they have less weight to stress their joints in my opinion. People I work with cannot do the activities of daily living at all such as getting up and down from a seated position.

I would love to know your opinion about that since you have much better participation than I do.

I don't have any of those devises or know anything about them, and I am not sure about the health effects of wearing them on your body 24/7.

Thank you for sharing all this wonderful info, and we love the help you are giving to all those people with morbid obesity, well done!

We cannot give any real medical advise, if that is what you're asking us for. We are simply incentivizing people to be active and move more often, as that is the general recommendation for normal individuals who do not suffer anything that prevents them from doing so.

In terms of wearables, we also have no info on whether any studies have been done on them in terms of health effects, yet if you find them beneficial, and you could be interested in owning one (a Fitbit for example, which we currently support), you might simply get tracked activity and earn rewards for doing that.

Feel free to join our discord and chat with us further well, and please keep doing the amazing things you already are doing! It simply makes us happy and proud!

Finland and a few other countries in Europe currently recognize cell phone brain cancer as a disease and cover it with insurance. But that is about the extent of what I know.

A big part of my coaching it to get people off the idea of tracking in the sense of how you do it. By the time people get to me, they have chronic diseases and can't lift their arms over their head etc.

I completely agree that "normal" healthy people are a different category and that tracking can and does work for them.

I don't see myself ever getting a fitbit or anything like it. What do you use your discord group for?

Hey, @lizanomadsoul!
