The Jaxx wallet is one of my first multi currency other than a core wallet. It's simple easy to use and has a mobile version that you sync with PC .

To navigate between different currency is on your top left and settings on your top right. Jaxx is a great choice for a desktop wallet.

Exodus is the most popular choice as most youtubers advertise this. It is also a solid choice, you can customize with different available skins but certain settings are hidden.

Both for these wallets are similar as they both have shapeshift and they update the platform to use new select coins and can you obtain your private key in preparation for a hardfork.

I didn't mention core wallets because of extravagant amount of hard-disk space they need to store the entire blockchain . Desktop wallets aren't secure as a hardware wallet but are still decent for the average user.
