Thank you! It is sad in a way, but they will be going to people who will be very grateful for the food. And they had a good, long life. They are not going to "get with it" - they are just too old. Did you know chickens have all their eggs in them at birth? When they are done, they are done.
I have a hard time knowing which chickens are laying what. How do you know? Do you heat the beer? It all looks so cold! :-))
When they are so old that they stop laying, you can actually check them. Basically, you're going get to second base with a chicken.
Life on a farm is indelicate. :)
And no, ice cold beer by the fire - that is how that works!

Fun with chickens! Yeah! I'll have you know we had hail today here - I'm thinking there's panic in the streets! Time to start a fire somewhere and have a beer. :-))
