The Harz is a low mountain range in Germany and the highest mountain range
in Northern Germany.
The Brocken is the highest Mountain of the Harz with it's peak at 1141m
So let's escape the city for a while and I invite you to #walkwithme to the top. 🥾🌲

From the little village "Schierke" you can take the Eckerlochstieg, which is the steepest path from Schierke to the Brocken, but also one of the most beautiful and popular paths. It's approximately 6.5 km long and leads in parts trough the forest, across little bridges and ends at the Brockenstrasse / Brocken street.

10 kilometres if you take the road way. But we walk through the forest.

Vom Dörfchen Schierke aus kann man den Eckerlochstieg, den steilsten Weg von Schierke zum Brocken, aber auch einen der schönsten und beliebtesten Wege nehmen.
Er ist ca. 6,5 km lang und führt teilweise durch den Wald, über kleine Brücken und endet an der Brockenstraße.

This is clearly a toadstool And it looks like someone already had a bite of it...Das ist eindeutig ein Fliegenpilz. Sieht aus als hätte schon jemand davon abgebissen

And here we see an injured tree that has used healing by resin formation. Amazing Und hier sehen wir einen verletzten Baum, bei dem die Heilung durch Harzbildung begonnen hat

And here we cross the Brocken Street which means we are close to the top. Just another 3.5 kilometres 😊Hier kreuzen wir die Brockenstrasse. Das bedeutet wir sind kurz vor der Spitze. Nur noch 3,5 Kilometer 😊

This board tells us about different walks in National Park from 13 to 97 kilometres. Which one would you prefer? Next time I'll go for the long one. 😉 Hier sehen wir 3 mögliche Wanderrouten durch den Nationalpark. Nächstes mal nehme ich die lange Tour. 😉

What a great walk. I'm relaxed, knowing that the city is still faaar away..Was für eine großartige Wanderung. Mir geht es gut, wissend das die Stadt noch weeeit weg ist..
