Alberta Morning in February
While I was out walking with our little dog this morning, I realized just how lucky I am. I live in the countryside literally surrounded by the beauty of this earth. The landscape is so beautiful with her blanket of clean white snow. The air in the -14 C/7 F temperatures is crisp and fresh; and I can feel it freeze my nose hairs as I breath in. The crunch of the snow under my boots is hard to describe, unless you have heard it. There is just no sound like it. Even the light breeze which makes the air seem even colder, is part of this beauty.
As I walk, I can see the house on the hill about two miles distant, and I can hear the hum of the highway traffic about a mile away. Some days I see deer track on the road. There are definitely fox and coyote in the neighborhood because I have seen both and their tracks – just not on this walk today.
