_{Smashed Avocado on Sour Dough Toast -- Pot of Decaff Tea and Oat Milk}

After our walk on that Eastgate road in Aberystwyth we quickly made it back to the supermarket where we’d parked the car. There was a cafe there so we just thought we’d have a bite to eat.

I only wanted something small so I opted for a Smashed Avocado on Sour Dough Toast with a pot of decaffeinated tea which cost around £6.50 (about 40 Steem). We were relieved when our food finally came; the service was extremely slow and I didn’t want to overstay our parking time. I reckon they were understaffed at that point.

The chef ‘elevated’ that piece of avocado toast by adding a drizzle of balsamic vinegar dressing, sun dried tomatoes and goat’s cheese. The cheese was fine as it added extra protein but the tomatoes were a bit too much for me - I wasn’t keen on their taste and I’m not a big fan of balsamic vinegar either. I left the tomatoes but ate all the rest.

The pot of decaff tea was great. My friend got me some oat ‘milk’ to go with it and that was good; normally I find that type of alternative milk rather watery but this must have been ‘barista style’ oat milk because it gave the tea a good colour.

You can find Tesco supermarkets everywhere in the UK. In fact in Aberystwyth there are two : this big Tesco with parking and a cafe and there’s also a Tesco Extra which is like a (big) corner shop less than a mile away.

I didn't really take photos of the outside or the inside of the building as I didn't want to stand out too much, but I later found this interesting footage from when the supermarket was being built.

Finding a supermarket with a two-storey car park with eating and toilet facilities is always a plus when you’re travelling as the prices are more sensible than in service stations.
