We Must Create Our Own Wakanda (Professor Kaba Kamene)

There is so much commentary going on right now, 2 weeks after the successful release of Marvel's Black Panther. Much of it has pleased me, but I'll be first to admit some of the voices I tend to respect have let me down. They get too hung up in the small parts that don't truly matter. Not enough of them are speaking on the massive positive impact this film will have for generations to come.

So I fully appreciated this review, and the views expressed by Professor Kaba Kamne. He takes time to remind us that 'the key is Wakanda, the world that Africans have created, that we are living in today.... and the decisions we are making toward each other, the role of women in society, and what role men should play ....'

The movie was well written, and for people who want to learn a lesson, the teachers are ready for that class. Whether the students are ready to take notes, is the only question. Leave a comment below if you took time to listen to what PRofessor Kaba Kamene shares, about this film.

We Must create our own Wakanda, and we must Be our own versions of T'Challa, Shuri and all the characters in this movie. We need to prepare for conflicts, and find ways to compete for leadership. Then we must honor the ceremony we choose, and respect the winner if we lose. This film was so rich, and I hope you had a chance to see it by now.
