Amala is one the best foods among the yoruba tribe of Nigeria, it is solid and it stays long in the stomach there by making it possible to get hungry in little time on like eating rice, noodles and other foods. Amala is made from yam flour or cassava flour, its colour might be white or black depending on the type of flour used to make it, amala is healing, because when someone feels a minor illness before it gets worst and he is able to eat a little bit hot amala, he will sweat and be fine.
Amala needs to be taken with soup, this soup can be gbegiri,.ewedu, egusi soup or the mixture of gbegiri and ewedu soup called the abula.
