A day to the start of Russia 2018 World Cup Final Mundia.
The usual 5 teams to qualify from Africa, and the remaining 27 countries sums it up.
My discuss will be on the first Africa team to qualify. (NIGERIA).
Nigeria first ever World cup campaign started in 1994, after years of struggling to get there. The Africa Champions were ceeded in Group D along side Bulgaria which they won convincingly by 3-0, and Argentina where they lost 1-2, their last group stage match ended 2-0 against Greece, where the African Champions top the group. But unfortunately Nigeria couldn't make it beyond the round 16, after loosing to Italy 1-2.
France 1998 world cup
The Super Eagles returned back to world cup, this time with, Cameroon, Morocco, South Africa and Tunisia, haven ceeded in Group D in 94, they were also grouped along with Paraguay, which they lost 1-0, but scored an upset to beat Spain 3-2, they face Bulgaria side they defeated far back 94 again they qualified with a win against the Bulgaria Side in Group D. But also lost heavily to the Denmark side by 1-4.
Korea/Japan 2002. world cup
Nigeria this time qualified with optimism. With a new squad and the hope of making strong impacts after loosing narrowly to Cameroon in a penalty shot out in the finals of the African Cup of Nation in 2000, and a third place finish in 2002.
Nigeria were drawn into Group F along with Sweden, Argentina and England. The first game was against Argentina haven met in the previous edition, and still lost to the Argentine by alone goal from Gabriel Batistuta, after breaching the Super Eagles defence in the 61st minutes after a goalless first half. Also lost to Swedish side after 1-2, despite scoring first, and a draw with England, saw them exiting the world cup with just 1point.
2006 World Cups in Germany
Unfortunately Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup in germany, after finishing level on points in the qualification group with Angola, that saw Angola replacing Nigeria at the world cup by head to head.
South Africa 2010 World cup
The first ever senior World Cup tournament to be held in Africa.
Super Eagles, zhaven beaten Kenya 3-2 to book a place in South.
Nigeria drawn in Group B with Argentina and South Korea and Greece, which they also failed to move beyond the group stage after a 2-1 to loss to Greece, 1-0 to Argentina and a 2-2 draw with South Korea, which saw them bowed out of the tournament..
Brazil 2014 World cup
With a disappointing start, Super Eagles had a
goalless draw in their first game against Iran, and beat Bosnia Herzegovic just by alone goal and lost to Argentina by 2-3 in Group F, to qualify for around 16, making it the third time Super Eagles will qualify for the round of 16 in 5 outings.
Russia 2018 World Cup

The Mundial saw the Super Eagles again drawn along with Argentina, this will make it to be the 5th meetings between the side in six outing for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. Nigeria are drawn in Group D with Argentina, Croatia and Iceland. The 2013 African Champions, came out top from the group to qualifier for World cup.
Their first game will be against Croatia side on the 16th of June.

Nigeria is a nice team.I remember the match against Argentina in fifa wc 2014.Nigeria played well though they loss.

Nigeria one of the the African's representatives in Russia its now 1 day to the kick off, I wish you all the best this time round.
I have little hope for this current team. I just wish it was during the time of Okocha and Kanu.
The only good thing about them is that they are the youngest team in this turnament.

Nigeria has always made a history in this world's uniting entertainment which this very one wont be exception. It is so u fortunate Ghana couldnt show up but we support you guys so fully to go lift the image of Africa so high.. This is the flying eagles..thanks for bringing in this to our notice Wafrica
Hmm, from my analysis on the current form of the Nigerian team. I do believe they have what it takes to make it far. Even, far into the quarter finals... That's if they don't meet tge German machines or the king of tiki-taka (Spain) or even the kings of football (Brazil).
Honestly, I do have a missed feeling. It's true, history do repeats it's self, but sometimes it can be to one's favour or against. Nice analysis @wafrica
