topic of the week is @being wealthy is it a blessing or a curse?
BEING WEALTHY A BLESSING OR A CURSE.
Going by the biblical statement of Jesus which states that before a rich man can enter heaven is like a Carmel going through the eye of a needle.for a moment i pause and tend to give this statement a serious thought. Been rich can be a blessing or a curse depending on several life factors and the person involved as exemplified below.
To be rich may be as a result of the grace of God and part of the destiny of the person that is involved. However, God has said in the bible that we should work so that we would be able to reap from the fruits of our labor, that simple statement indicates that we should work so that life may be comfortable to a certain extent and particularly to ensure our daily bread. Therefore if one does not work , he cannot have his daily bread. To work hard does not mean one must work till death before he can have a more comfortable life, no. To work hard is to work diligently, consistently and without cheating/been dubious and also trusting in God for his blessings. When this happens, the grace and blessing of God increases and multiplies the resulting fruits of our labor. So it is the blessing and multiplication of the fruits of our labor. So it is the blessing and multiplication of the fruits of our labor that may turn us to be more and more comfortable and surplus of the fruits of our labor, this will in turn give more comfort than one may have expected. It is the surplus of this fruits of labor and the comfort it provides that invariably turns the person involved to be regarded as been rich, or this surplus of labor fruit when harnessed, properly managed may become marketable and valuable product which eventually yield us money which also means to a certain extent can make us become rich.
So now see that when we work diligently, persistently and believing in God’s blessing we will reap and harvest bountifully of the fruits of our labor, that is why those who work hard without cheating , deceit, fraudulence etc God blesses such a hand worker and the person will turn out to be a rich man who may have observed ordinances and other acts of God and enter into the kingdom of heaven contrary to the believe that a rich man may not enter heaven.
On the other side, our lord’s prayer teaches and advises us to ask for daily bread. Where a man observers this by working diligently, consistently and with faith in God , this would be possible. But for a man who believes that the daily bread is not sufficient and he thinks he can be clever and smart and that God is wrong in asking us for a daily bread not only by diligently and consistently working hard, but by being too smart in form of cheating, being dubious and converting his neighbors properties to become his.
It may be land, Estate, building and even families of others to become his in order to have double/multiple daily bread. He has not only disobeyed Gods advice and prompting for us but he has set for himself a dangerous act that will catch up with him sooner or later. Even though one has a multiplication of “fruits of his labor” but this “fruit of his labor” do not have the blessing of God. What he how sees as bountiful fruits of his labor is now an octopus of curses which will bring misfortune and disaster to him at the end. These “ bountiful fruits of labor” instead of been a source of blessings of true riches will metamorphose to be a curse that will deter him or prevent him from entering into the kingdom of God, because he has not acquired his riches by honest/candid means.
So to be rich and to enter into the kingdom of heaven we must be honest with all our dealings with our neighbors by not cheating, converting their properties, defrauding and by not killing or maiming anybody in order to be rich but by following the simple injunction of God to work for our daily bread, diligently, consistently and in a most honest way to be condemned from our riches (God forbid) we must avoid selfishness, we must avoid been too over ambitious, dishonest, converting properties in all forms , depriving people of their rights and livelihood, we must assist others with our wealth e.g the poor , needy, widow etc we must look after our neighbors and treat them as ourselves, it is by doing this that our wealth will not prevent us from entering into the kingdom of heaven, by so doing our wealth will not become a curse but a blessing. So therefore we must live a honest and sincere life in other for us to achieve this.thanks for reading.
