IDPCamp2school project, kindly support displaced children
I’m Aben Hilenen Victor and I will be turning 30 years on February 14. To celebrate my thirtieth birthday, I will be spending time and supporting children at the internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in my region.
For the past five years, there have been grievous communal attacks on the Benue farmers and other communities in north central Nigeria by armed herdsmen. These attacks have claimed over 20,000 lives including children and women and over 80,450 children are displaced and separated from their families and trapped in the IDP camps in Benue state.
The people are now homeless and their children cannot go to school as their homes, churches, schools, health centers and other public facilities were razed down by armed herdsmen. Their farmlands too were destroyed and their crops eaten up by the herdsmen’s cattle. Life has become as difficult for the victims as they no longer have sources of livelihoods except to live and depend on whatever it’s made available to them at the poorly managed IDP camps.
The IDPCamp2School project is a volunteer driven community project I have initiated to partner with friends and other well-meaning individuals like you with the vision to transform the society by empowering the disadvantaged children to realize their full potential.
We will provide the following to the children at the displaced camps
• Educational scholarships
• Create learning spaces and
• Implement mentorship programs and
• Provide other psycho-social support for the children at the internally displaced persons (IDP) camps and vulnerable children in the rural communities.
Your support of any kind will be greatly appreciated as we reach out and show love to those vulnerable kids.
