Have you ever wondered what really inner peace means? I used to think nobody could feel lasting peace inside them and that anyone who would have inner peace would live a reclusive life. Later, I discovered my thoughts had been wrong. So, what really is Inner Peace?
Wikipedia's definition
"Inner peace (peace of mind) refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace, with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the face of discord or stress. Being 'at peace' is considered by many to be healthy and the opposite of being stressed or anxious."
Peace of mind doesn't necessarily mean the lack of challenges, but in the face of those challenges, you decide to keep calm, not over analyzing the challenge. Inner peace means no running of the mind from one unimportant thought to another.
The mind itself is a battlefield. It habours in it so many thoughts, the good, the bad, the ugly thoughts. Each thought struggling to dominate the other. In the mind, a lot of things are stuffed in it and these things causes unrest of the mind.
HOW TO ATTAIN INNER PEACE
- Clear Your Mind: Inner peace is like having a big, clean spacious room, empty of junks and unnecessary things. Once you have your mind cleared of unimportant things, you will discover that you are happy and free. Nothing will be able to disturb your moods and character. You become more alive and will only see the positives in all challenges.
- Change Your Thoughts:It is very important to know you possess the ability to control your mind. Focus on your thoughts and you will realize the way you think doesn't really reflect your feelings. Reorganize your thoughts towards reflecting how you truly feel.
- Love Yourself:Self love is very neccessary in having inner peace. Loving yourself first makes you feel kind towards your fellow being. You will discover that because you now truly love yourself, helping others become quite easy. The positive energy in you easily flows to others.
Trying out these few things would help you attain the inner peace that seem elusive to you.
