RE: VR 3D sketching /sculpting | Oculus Rift- Gravity sketch + Oculus Medium
Hehe I really understand! I'm around my 40s and I feel I got kinda late into the game so I hear you! But I'm really glad I got to explore this fascinating technology and see where it can take my work. Truth is I was already invested in 3s graphics and it was only eventual for me to try that out. I have to say, it does help me more with the tools and is more intuitive and hopefully I can help others too!
When I was in my mid thirties, I returned to school to study art. I am into drawing and painting mostly, heavy on drawing. I dabble a little in digital art. My friend Peter Gric does a lot with 3D plotting (for his drawings and paintings), but I never understood the basics of it; somewhere on my computer is a program he recommended, but I gave up quickly, since it cut too much into my studio time. I am more into spontaneously making a mess to start with, and then trying to make sense of it.
Hi there again! I totally understand! sadly many digital programs take a lot of time and serious discipline to even learn the basics..I feel that it really has to do with the amount of passion and drive we have for certain things. I been traditional painter all my life and its been over a decade I started in digital because I really wanted to explore the opportunities and Im really grateful for doing so because not only it opened business paths previously not accesible, but really elevated my work to a new different level. However, I do feel you about that need to be spontaneous and then trying make sense of it. I also love doing that in personal stuff (because it would be almost impossible to apply that on client work hehe) I checked the profile of your friend Peter but Im not sure I was able to locate his personal work, mostly saw resteemed posts so Im sure I missed something! thank you for the feedback!
edit: I found his work! great great stuff! following and thank you for the mention.
