Give Felons Their Voice Back
Everyone knows that felons: can't vote and can't own a firearm 'including cross bows and bow triggers' but most people are, blind,to the reasons or how EASY it is to become a felon in the U.S.
Reasons felons cannot vote stretch from 'they lost the trust of the public,' to 'they arent productive members of society' but the VAST MAJORITY of the time this is not the case.
There are over 100 ways to commit a felony, and each is up to the state prosecutors to put full definition to it.
These charges can be as bogus as notifying friends and family of a security breach in a companies software they are selling, all the way to telling a park ranger u cleaned your area but forgot a wrapper.
Americans are 'overcriminalized' and the reason could be as heinous as attempting to silence the public.
As stated before a felon does not have the right to vote for bogus reasons, as well as they cannot possess firearms.
Seeing as the people cannot vote, this removes voices and votes from current and pending issues.
The less people to stand against a bill, the easier it is to pass said bill.
Currently over 6m people in the u.s. are convicted felons but thats not the only thing that can bar your right to vote. Some places remove yoyr right to vote for violating, 'moral turpitude, which could be as minor as having anal sex, or possessing marijuana. Others include doing business without a license and, violating liquor laws
Some places still PERMANENTLY bar your rights if you perform certain crimes... like sodomy 'sodomy is a generalized term, with no REAL legal definition but pertains to "unnatural sexual acts such as anal sex, oral sex or bestiality"'
It is unacceptable in the 21st century, that we still to this day, have laws that influence what you do during voluntary sex. Even more unacceptable that these laws label citizens as felons.
It is time to reform these ridiculous laws, that are designed to remove the citizens voice.
It is time to remind the people of the u.s. that voting is important and no matter what we cannot let the government remove our voice.
