For my friends who are new to Steemit you can check the status of your Voting Power (VP) by clicking on this link https://steemd.com/@username. Quickly change the username on the link with your own to make the page work.

As a general guide and to enjoy the full potential of your voting power you may consider the following:

1. Avoid going below 80% Voting Power. If you do, then try focusing on other activities like taking time to read useful content from other Steemies. Engage with the community by writing comments on posts you are interested in. You may also join a few contests sponsored by Steemit members who knows you might just win a reward.
2. Ideally the Minimum upvote you can do is 10 per day and a maximum of 20. You can do as many as you desire but it takes time before your voting power gets replenished.
3. Upvote posts you find useful or has the potential to go big. (If you are not aware, you may vote a post 27 minutes after it got published to earn curation rewards)
