Not A Weakness

Regarding the chosen name of my alter ego (The Recovering Statist), I just wanted to clarify and make a distinction. Typically, hearing the word "recovering" in front of anything usually implies a weakness.

If you hear "recovering alcoholic" you might imagine a poor creature who is one temptation away from returning to the bottom of many bottles. If you hear "recovering addict" you might think of someone who at any time could steal from his or her own family just to get one more fix.

However, a "Recovering Statist" is an entirely different species. Here is the main difference. Should you manage to crack the chemical combination of the lock that has been indoctrinationally forged to restrict your brain from grasping the reality of self ownership, then you are free from something that there is no danger of you ever returning to.

Statism is not something that one is ever addicted to. Statism is a bondage that once one is free from it the "recovering" part is more like finally being able to thrive.

So, the moral of the story, or my point in all this is that it is a very positive thing. You can replace "recovering" with "free". And freedom is not stressful or depressing or weak or stagnant or restricting or burdensome.

So please, fellow recoverer, do not allow politics or fear or worry to ever hinder your journey. To quote the song by Trooper, "we're here for a good time, not a long time". So live and thrive accordingly, in spite of any state, in spite of everyone else's delusional belief in their democratic authority over you. Living according to these things would be like believing Santa Claus has power over you. Don't do it. Live happy, live free and thrive. Why?

Because fuck the state, that's why.
