Kindle the Flame of Voluntaryism with Patience

in #voluntaryism7 years ago (edited)

I have been quite active lately in learning how to make a fire in my fireplace due to a dead tree that was cut down. I have learned that in order to make a strong resilient fire one must be patient and grow the fire with leaves, twigs, small branches, medium branches, large branches, small logs, medium logs, and large logs. There is a specific progression of ever larger wood that the fire must be fed. If the fire continues with small pieces of wood the fire will never grow. If the fire is given excessively large pieces of wood, the fire will be extinguished.

We must view the spreading of Voluntaryism and Free Market Capitalism the same way. In order to teach this philosophy to the ignorant one must follow a specific progression of ideas to ensure success. Burdening a child with excessively complex concepts will snuff out the love of learning. Not presenting the child with ever increasing challenges will bore the child.

My name is Danilo Cuellar. Follow me at Peaceful Anarchism. I also run the Peaceful Anarchism Facebook page and produce many YouTube videos and DTube. You can support and donate to my work through Patreon. To support me through PayPal please visit my Peaceful Anarchism website and click on the donate button at the top right of the page. I’m a practitioner of Eastern Healing arts with degrees in Acupuncture and Chinese medicinal herbs, I have always questioned the status quo, a path which led me to peaceful anarchism. Through my journey, I have worn many hats, that of a classical pianist, avid chess player, philosopher, comedian, and now father of two little anarchists. My wife brands me as a Cultural Critic, but I am simply following my thirst for knowledge and passion for writing.

guiding the world towards a stateless society can't happen with out going through the right process, just like building a fire. I love this analogy

In my opinion decentralization is the first healthy step towards anarchy and I'm excited to see what will be next.

Thank you for you kindly for your most gracious words. Yes decentralization does go a long way towards achieving our goal. Cheers! :-)

I found your post through GINAbot on Discord and am glad I did. It makes finding other friends, Liberty Professionals as I like to call us, very easy! My main concern about this issue is that I have found the following things to be true in the world from my limited time here:

  1. A small minority want to rule everyone else.
  2. The vast majority want to be ruled.
  3. There is a small minority of us however who want neither.

Therefore, a life long question I have had is, "How do we find a way to coexist with the other two groups?"

I don't think you can teach individual liberty and have them accept it to a majority of people. They'll reject it even if you remove all government and other programming. It seems, sadly, as a species, that a vast majority are wired to be ruled perhaps. I don't quite understand it, but that is how I've seen things to be.

People demand rulers. They hate those of us who reject them.

Thank you for commenting. I'm glad you found my post as well. :-)

Yes educating the masses in philosophy, morality, and economics is a formidable task indeed. That is why I have my YouTube channel, podcast, and website. I am slowly documenting my knowledge so I can easily disseminate it to anyone who is interested in learning. The process is slow and arduous but the reward is well worth it. Don't lose hope my friend. :-)

Hi Danilo. We have some of the same goals of helping people to grasp anarchism/voluntaryism. I'm working on specific communication skills that people can use to help form connections with people so that they can set the stage to really understand each other. You were saying to not start with the big complicated discussions... I say the same thing by suggesting that people discuss with their friend how they feel about actions that governments take against peaceful people.
thx

Yes indeed! We must start simply so as not to intimidate others who might otherwise be open to processing these ideas. Do not be in a hurry to show off your intricate knowledge of Austrian Economics and Free Market Capitalism. The time will come. :-)
