VIX is a measure of expected volatility. It almost never goes below $10, just check out its history. It is currently trading at $9.86. If ANYTHING goes wrong in the world, it shoots up. This option is currently in the money $1.14 and selling for $1.85 so your cost is only $0.71. It has good volume and a relatively large open interest for liquidity. If the VIX gets to $16.55 by June 21st, you would make 300% on your money.
