Visit Nepal, Beautiful Ilam district.

in #visit7 years ago

I recently had a chance to visit the eastern part of Nepal. I had luck to reach to the far east this time. Although my trip was not planned I was very pleased to reach there. This is a short experience i would like to share it here on steemit because it might help some people save some transpiration cost as well as enjoy some beautiful pictures that i managed to bring from Ilam. I was at Biratnagar for some work last week. After my work was finished I suddenly decided to visit Ilam. I took a micro bus from the Biratnagar bus stand at arround 12:00 AM. It was a 5 hour trip. The transportation fare was also not that expensive. I paid 450 in Nepalease Rupee which is around 4.50$. The road was very plain in the parts of Tearai like Itahari, Damak and Birtamod. After the end of the terai region it seemed to get somewhat sloppy. But it was a very very exciting travel experience because I got to watch some many wonderful hills and forest full of seneric beauty. After 5 hours I was suddenly there at Ilam. The micro dropped me at Ilam Bazzar. Here is the picture of me posing at the Tea garden.

Ilam is very famous for it's tea. There are achers and achers of land where the locals do tea farming here. The tea produced here makes it's way to the international market as well. The surrounding parts of Ilam is very neat and the air coming out the vegetation is also very fresh. The climate is also wonderful. But, heard that it rains a lot during the monsoon season. There are plenty of places where you can have some lunch at Ilam Bazzar. If you are looking for a guest house or a lodge to stay you can find one for you at this same place. There are lodges that charges you 1000 NRS which is equal to 10$ to 5000 Nrs or 50$ per night. I managed to stay at my relative's place. The most beautiful thing about Ilam was the sunrise early in the morning.

At Ilam bazzar you can find so many wonderful stuffs like churpi. Chhurpi is a traditional cheese, similar to ricotta, consumed in the Himalayan regions of Nepal. The source of milk to make Chhurpi is mainly Yak.

Most of the tea plants at the tea garden where being harvested at that time. But still this is what Ilam looks like when the plants are being cut down. Imagine how beautiful it would look during the monsoon season. If you are also looking to visit Nepal make sure you visit Ilam. Most people who come here are only interested to go to Mount Everest and places like Pokhara but there are places like these where you can enjoy, experience and learn a lot too.
